Veda Alice Jackson, 96, of Corrigan, Texas, passed away on April 2, 2024, in Corrigan, Texas. She was born on May 4, 1927, in Corrigan, Texas, to the late Elmer and Mable Seamans. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at First Baptist Church, Corrigan, Texas with Bro. Buster Grigg officiating. Interment will follow at Union Springs Cemetery, Corrigan, Texas.
Veda Jackson, a woman of deep faith and endless love for her family, peacefully left this world on April 2, 2024, at the age of 96.
Born on May 4th, 1927, in Corrigan, TX, Veda was the cherished daughter of Mable and Elmer Seamans.
A native East Texan, Veda remained steadfastly connected to her roots and dedicated to her beloved Corrigan community, where she will be laid to rest. She was a dedicated wife and mother, placing God above all else, and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Corrigan.
Veda's greatest happiness came from her family, which grew to include 11 adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her source of strength until her final days.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith. Veda is survived by her daughters, Ann Phillips of Houston, Linda Smith of Lakeway, and LaDell O’Guin of Corrigan, along with her son-in-law, Bill O’Guin.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jeff Fleming, Josh Smith, Chase Smith, and Samantha Stewart; as well as her great-grandchildren: Jayden, Jackson, Leighton, Raegan, Eli, Gemma, and Grace; and her niece, Kelly Shadix.
Veda is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Eugene Jackson, her parents, Mable and Elmer Seamans, and her sons-in-law, James Phillips, and Kelley Smith, as well as her cherished nephew, Ronnie Smith.
