Troy Edwin "Dobber" Fann

Graveside Services for Troy Edwin “Dobber” Fann, 68, of Chester will be held Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carmona Cemetery with Pastor Charlie Hodge officiating.

Ed was born July 15, 1954 in Corrigan to John Edwin and Glennie Thelma (Spencer) Fann and passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022 in Chester.

Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, gambling, and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed taking rides on his motorcycle.  He and his close friends, who knew him as “Dobber”, spent countless hours laughing and talking about old times or telling tall tales. To his grandchildren, he was known as “PawPaw Dobber”.  If you ran into Dobber and hadn’t seen him in years, you could pick up where you left off, as if you had just seen him yesterday.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Glennie Fann; brother, Preston “Buddy” Fann; and sister, Nelda Smith.

Ed is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Edwin and Courtney Fann of Chester; stepdaughter, Shari Card and husband Jason; brother and sister-in-law, Bryan and Wanda Fann of Corrigan; sisters and brothers-in- law, Wanda and Larry Sikes of St. Clair, MO, Sally and Billy Seale of Lufkin, Nina Bowman of Corrigan, Jane and Tony Stephens of Lufkin; and Jean and Dave Reid of Buford, GA; grandchildren, Blaine and Bailey Fann and Paris Cockrell and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
