Paul Lamar Small

Graveside Services for Paul Small, 85, of Lufkin will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Corrigan with Norman Turner officiating.

Paul passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. He was born on January 10, 1936 in Huntsville to James Lester and Cleo Mildred (Fredrick) Small. He graduated from Huntsville High School in 1954 and joined the United States Air Force shortly after graduation, serving for 8 years. In 1956, he married his best friend, Jimmie Lou Bryant. The two spent 63 years together until her passing in 2019.

Paul worked for Texas Foundries in Lufkin and retired after 33 years of service. He was a member of Old Union Church of Christ and Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669. He enjoyed model building, woodworking, and reading.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jimmie Lou Small; granddaughter, Amanda Dalton; and grandson, Michael Thomas.

Paul is survived by his son, Robert Small and wife Julie of Lufkin; daughters, Paula Cosper of Houston; Tanya Thomas and husband Ron of Tampa, FL; brothers, James Small and Wayne Small; sister, Mildred Hearne and husband Jack; grandchildren, Nathan Small, Courtney Loving, Jennifer Ambrose, and Brian Thomas; great grandchild, Gabriel Ambrose and other relatives and friends.
