Funeral Services for Maude Marshall, 78, of Moscow will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Corrigan Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Hood officiating. Interment will follow in the Lily Island Cemetery in Camden. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Corrigan Funeral Home.
Maude was born on August 19, 1942 in Camden to the late Bozie and Odessa (Barnes) Stephens and passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 in Lufkin.
Maude met the love of her life and the two joined in union on October 12, 1963. After graduation high school, she attended Angelina College and received her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1968. She was one of the first colored women to graduate from Angelina College. She was employed at Memorial Hospital and retired in 2005 after 35 years of service. Later, she went to work for Davita Dialysis. She was a Baptist by faith and a longtime member of Evans Chapel in Moscow.
Maude is preceded in death by her parents, Bozie and Odessa Stephens; husband, John Henry "Shorty" Marshall and 5 brothers.
Maude is survived by her sons, Frederick Stephens (Jerrie) of Lufkin; John Barlow (Kisha) of Moscow; John Marshall Jr. (Kathy Stubblefield) Moscow; daughter, Barbara Marshall of Killeen; sister, Yvonne Ash (Tommy); grandchildren, Annika, Michael, Keishell, Shay, Chelvis, and Jonathan; numerous great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Eula Stephens of Houston; caretaker, Odessa Bray.
The family would like to thank Angels Choice Health Care & Hospice in the Pines for taking good care of Mrs. Marshall.
