Lynda Havis Rascon
(October 21, 1944 – April 1, 2021)
Funeral Services for Lynda (Havis) Rascon, 76, of Houston will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Russell Duplantis officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-11 prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Havis Cemetery in Barnes.
Lynda was born October 21, 1944 in Camden, Texas to Lois & Thurman Havis. She was the second youngest of her five siblings. After graduating from Chester High School, she attended business school in Lufkin. She and her sister, Ann, moved to Houston and lived with their older sister, Mary and her family. While living and working in Houston, she met her husband, Ray, whom she married in 1969. After living in New Mexico and Corpus Christi, Tx for several years, they returned to Houston. She attended the University of Houston where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, and then began working for the Harris County Auditing Office. She was a long-term resident of Houston where she worked, raised her daughter, and eventually retired.
Lynda is survived by her husband Ray Rascon, daughter Karen Rascon, grandchildren Augusta Flores-Rascon and Asa Flores-Rascon, her siblings Hinton Havis (Janice Havis), Mary White, Ann Mittlestaedt, and Steve Havis (Carol Havis), as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lois and Thurman Havis.
