Lois Doyle Obituary

Graveside Services for Lois Doyle, 83, of Corrigan will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan with Bro. James Brinkley officiating.

Mrs. Doyle was born on July 26, 1938, in Trevat, Texas to Delmar and Gertrude (Boley) Brown and went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, in Corrigan.

Lois was a Baptist by faith and a member of First Baptist Church in Corrigan. At the age of 16, she worked at Essie’s Café; this is where her and Frenchy first met. He would make special trips to get a hamburger just to get a glimpse at the young lady who would become the love of his life. The two fell in love and married on July 17, 1955. They spent more than 66 years together before her passing. After they married, she worked for Lankford’s Hardware for 12 years. She later went to work for Riley’s Building Supply and retired after 18 years of service.

Lois was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was known as “Granny” by all the grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She enjoyed watching westerns and talking on the phone. Once she made Corrigan LTC her new home, she enjoyed playing bingo, making new friends, and getting her nails done.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sharon Doyle; brother, Donnis Brown; sister, Linda Clements; sister-in-law, Marie Brown; and brother-in-law, Sam Clements.

Lois is survived by her husband of 66 years, Wilbert “Frenchy” Doyle of Corrigan; daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and Joe Risenhoover of Pflugerville and Debra and Russell Manning of Waxahachie; sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and James Riley of Corrigan; brother, Roy Allen “Buddy” Brown of Moscow; grandchildren, Amy Varnado and husband Kirk, Amber Williams and husband Travis, Zachary Manning and wife Sierra, Micah Manning, and Joshua Manning; great grandchildren, Isaac and Ian Varnado and Layton and Hadley Williams and numerous other relatives and friends.

Honorary Pallbearers: Kirk Varnado, Travis Williams, Zachary Manning, Micah Manning, and Joshua Manning
