Juanita (Gutierrez) Gonzalez

A Mass of Christian Burial for Juanita Gonzalez, 72, of Corrigan will be held Friday, June 4, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Corrigan. Interment will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 3, 2021, from 5-7 p.m. at Corrigan Funeral Home. A Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Juanita went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 29, 2021, in Spring, Texas. Juanita was born on December 23, 1948, in McAllen to the late Manuel and Gregoria (Tovar) Gutierrez. She met the love of her life, Angel Gonzalez and the two married on May 9, 1966.

Juanita was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Corrigan, Texas. She was a homemaker and raised 5 children while Angel worked hard to provide. Not only did she raise her children, but she also raised 6 grandchildren. She enjoyed her puzzle books, reading Amish novels, and playing bingo. In her younger years, she enjoyed spending time outside in her flower garden.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Angel Gonzalez; son, Andres Gonzalez; daughter, Dora Gonzalez; brothers, Manuel Gutierrez, Anastacio Gutierrez, Candelario Gutierrez, Pedro Gutierrez and Trinidad Gutierrez; and granddaughter, Christina Jimenez.  

Juanita is survived by her sons, Jose Gonzalez and wife Alice of Spring; Daniel Gonzalez and wife Sarah of Corrigan; Jesus Gonzalez of Harlingen; brother, Jose Gutierrez of Michigan; sisters, Maria Frazier of Cleveland and Lydia Gutierrez of McAllen; grandchildren, Cindy Stephenson, Andy Gonzalez, Jeremy Gonzalez, Angel Gonzalez, Jose Gonzalez, Jessica Padilla, Araceli Padilla, and Hector Figueroa; 8 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.  

Pallbearers: Andres Gonzalez Jr., Jeremy Gonzalez, Jose Gonzalez, Hector Figueroa, Francisco Gutierrez, and Guadalupe Gonzalez.
