Funeral Services for John David Robbins, 80, of Moscow will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Corrigan Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery in Moscow. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am prior to the service. Mr. Robbins passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 in Moscow.
John David Robbins Sr. was born on June 21, 1941 in New Willard, Texas to the late Samuel Robbins and Devella Hubbard. His family moved to Houston Texas when he was a child. John attended Phyllis Wheatley H.S., where he graduated in 1961. He briefly attended college and in 1963, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was a decorated soldier who served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1966. He is survived by his six children; David Urps and John Hildreth (Walterine) four of them with Barbara Mouton Robbins: Johnisa Devon Robbins, John David Robbins Jr. (preceded in death), Samuel Dallas Robbins (Tomiko) and Rhone Ray Robbins (April). John was employed with Cameron Iron Works until his retirement in 2001. He raised his children as a devoted single father and he was a great provider. He was a world traveler who had a passion for taking pictures that captured the beautiful sights through his eyesight. He was very wise and loved to share his advice with loved ones and friends.
John is also survived by his three sisters; Lois Wyne, Joyce Robbins and Constance Denkins. His six children and nine grandchildren; Deonshae Robbins-Thomas (Pooh)-(Anthony), Alexcia Hampton (Hamp), Deondre Robbins (Dre), Christopher Hampton, Erica Hampton, Rochelle Robbins, John Hampton (Jay), Rhea Hampton (Re-Re), Kayla Robbins. He was also fortunate to bond with his great-grandchildren Jaxen Thomas, Kynslee Hampton, Xoe Thomas and Jeremiah Thomas. He had a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends whom he loved dearly.
John was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings Essie Mae Phillips, Cleophas Robbins, Jewell Lee Robbins Myers and his beloved son John David Robbins Jr.
