Jerry loved camping on the Neches River with his family as a young boy. He talked about aunts, uncles and cousins spending the weekend in the summer fishing and sleeping under the stars.
In the winter, Jerry enjoyed hunting with lots of family. He spent many nights around a campfire in the Piney Woods. He loved the fellowship of family as many cousins would come from far away to hunt with the Cockrell men.
As Jerry became an adult, he grew to love cars and all the things that make them work. Coming from a family of mechanics, it was so natural for him. He spent most of his working life in the parts business. Anyone could come in the parts store with a problem and Jerry would know just what part they needed. He spent some of his happiest adult life working at the NAPA store where he enjoyed greeting people and helping them with their parts needs.
Jerry’s personal life was centered around service to others. He was a Christian who loved the Lord. He was a devout Mason and enjoyed teaching others. He spent over 50 years in service at the Corrigan Masonic Lodge and the Corrigan Eastern Star. He loved each of you and called you his brothers and sisters.
He leaves behind numerous family and friends.
Jerry is with our Lord Jesus Christ. One day we will see him again.
