James was born on October 28, 1935 in Moscow to the late Carl and Mary Lee (Loving) Tullos and went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in Livingston.
James attended school in Moscow. After the school burned, he attended in Corrigan, where he graduated. A couple of years after graduation, he joined the United States Army. He was a combat engineer during the Korean War. After serving time in the military, he went to work for Champion Paper Mill and retired after 20 years of service. Later, he worked for the Polk County Road and Ridge as a heavy equipment operator. After 25 years of service, he then retired. He found out being retired wasn’t for him and he went back to work for the Polk County Road and Bridge and hung up his hat after 20 more years. In his younger years, he spent time as a racecar driver and was always hard to beat. He enjoyed tinkering with cars, deer hunting, and working in his garden. He was a Baptist by faith and attended Damascus Baptist Church for several years. He served on the Friendship Cemetery Board for many years. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
