Derek Layton Cox

Derek Layton Cox, 45, of Corrigan passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 in Livingston. He was born on April 7, 1976 in Bay City to Lee Burch Cox and Debbie Fouse Carroll.

Derek was a Methodist by faith. He enjoyed playing dominos and watching football. His favorite team was the Pittsburg Steelers. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad and antique shopping with his mom.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Cox.

He is survived by his father, Lee Burch Cox and wife Melody; mother, Debbie Carroll and husband Johnny; grandfather, W. L. “Dub” Cox; sons, Kyle Cox, Zachary Cox, and Taylor Hardee and wife Rachel; daughter, Raney Hardee; sisters, Amber Ceccacci and wife Wyndi, Annie Sanders and husband Kurt, and Laura Hebel and husband Gary; stepbrother, Jarred Saizan; and stepsister, Jane Ellen (Saizan) Miller and husband Clint; granddaughter, Ellie Mae Hardee and numerous other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas.
