David Junies Smith

Funeral Services for David Smith, 80, of Corrigan will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Corrigan Funeral Home with Pastor Charlie Hodge officiating. Interment will follow in the Stryker Cemetery in Corrigan.

Mr. Smith was born on April 6, 1941 in Houston to the late, Junies and Ethel Floree (Bullock) Smith and passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021 in Corrigan.

David was a Baptist by faith and worked as a machinist for over 50 years. When he was younger, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed helping others in their time of need, even allowing some to live with him until they could get on their feet. He had many friends and never met a stranger. He had a love for his dogs and each one meant the world to him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Junies and Ethel Smith and nephew, Johnny Addison.

David is survived by his sisters, Betty Tashnek and Mary Louise Rogers both of Richmond; nephew, Shane Addison; niece, Angela Bacorn; 4 great nieces and 3 great nephews and numerous other relatives and friends.
