Mass of Christian burial for Colleen Kauntze-Cockburn, 90, of Conroe, formerly of Corrigan will be held Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Spring. Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan.
Colleen went home to be with God on Thursday, February 4, 2022. She was born on April 14, 1931 in Mandalay, Burma to the late Richard Gerald and Helen Louisa (Rowson) Soord. She met the late Rudy Kauntze-Cockburn at a New Years’ Eve dance and the two fell in love. They married on August 20, 1955.
Colleen was a Catholic by faith. She attended St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, finding joy in the traditional Latin mass. She spent her last 4 months of life in the beautiful and peaceful St. Dominic Village in Houston.
Colleen is survived by her sons, Rory Kauntze-Cockburn of San Marcus; Clinton Kauntze-Cockburn of Phoenix, AZ; Jason Kauntze-Cockburn of Nacogdoches; daughter, Helen Racz and husband Gregory of Katy; brothers, Tony Soord of Conroe; and Maurice Soord and wife Jean of Orkney Islands; sister, Norine McGoldrick of London, England; nephew, Marcus Suitor of London, England; niece, Lesley Ann Suitor of Montana; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Joseph Kauntze-Cockburn; brother, W. D. Soord, and sister in law, Lillian Soord.
