Funeral Services for Carolynn Hoot, 49, of Corrigan will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Lesly Wilkinson and Pastor Rex Hoot officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 5-8 p.m. at Corrigan Funeral Home.
Carolynn was born on August 23, 1971 in Hugo, OK to Albert and Marge Havard and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 21, 2020 in Corrigan.
Carolynn met her soul mate, Sherman Hoot and the two fell in love. They married on March 24, 1990 in the Old Orchard Park in Diboll. She was a Baptist by faith and a faithful member of Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. When her two granddaughters were born, they were the light of her life. She was known as “Sugar” by Zoey and Aubree. Carolynn enjoyed arts and crafts, sewing and baking. Spending time with her family brought her the most joy.
Carolynn is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Marge Havard and sister, Candace Underwood.
Carolynn is survived by her husband, Sherman Hoot of Corrigan; son, Joshua Hoot of Corrigan; daughter, Katy Jo Hoot of Corrigan; granddaughters, Zoey and Aubree Hoot of Corrigan; brother, A. J. Havard and wife Alicia of Willis; sisters, Chandra Green and husband Don of Diboll; Connie Myers and husband Roy of Kirby, Arkansas; Cindy Reese and husband Grady of Lufkin; Janie Lightfoot and husband Bruce of Lufkin and Keri Funderburk and husband Austin of Willis; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Claude “Shorty” and Carol Hoot of Corrigan; special friend, Leslie Ricks of Corrigan and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers: Chris Ricks, Francisco Lopez, John Curtis Hoot, Holden Havard, Halston Havard, and Dakota Cowen.
