Ashley Morgan Brown

Ashley Morgan Brown, 40, of Moscow, Texas, passed away on March 5, 2023, in Conroe, Texas. She was born on September 5, 1982, in Lufkin, Texas, to Buddy and Kathie Brown. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Corrigan First Baptist Church in Corrigan, Texas with Bro. Robert Jones officiating.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Corrigan Funeral Home in Corrigan, Texas.

Ashley was born in Lufkin and raised in Corrigan, Texas. She graduated from Corrigan-Camden High School in 2001. Ashley then went on to earn a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Stephen F. Austin. In 2010, she earned her Master of Social Work degree from Baylor in Waco, Texas and she even received a teaching certificate along the way. Ashley used those degrees to work as a social worker from 2010 to 2016. She taught for 6 years at schools in Crockett and Leggett. Ashley’s greatest achievement was her son, Steven. She was chosen by God to be Steven’s mom when he was 5 years old. He was her whole world. Ashley loved him wholeheartedly for the 4 years she was with him here on earth. In addition to spending time with Steven, Ashley loved to read. Ashley was a fighter, and she was fiercely independent. She never wanted special treatment even though her life was fraught with health issues. Ashley was a devout Christian and recently was attending Timbercreek Church in Lufkin. She touched many lives in her short time on earth. Ashley received her wings and ultimate healing. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Ashley is survived by her parents, Buddy and Kathie Brown; son, Steven Brown; brother, Ryan Brown; nephew, RJ Brown; grandparents, James and Louise Toler; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Lorine Scott; grandmother, Gertrude Brown; aunts and uncles, Lois Doyle, Linda and Sam Clements, Donnis and Marie Brown and Sam Watson; and cousin, Sammy Watson.
