Dorothy Hoffman Obituary

Dorothy Nell Hoffman (Safford), 88 of Corrigan passed away on December 22, 2023, in Livingston, TX. Dorothy was born on March 6,1935 in Carmona, TX. to parents Glenn “Hap” Safford and Ethel Sunvison of Carmona, TX. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, from 1-2 PM at Union Springs Church in Corrigan, TX. Service to follow at 3 PM in the Chapel of Union Springs Church with Pastor Lesley Wilkerson officiating.

Dorothy was a long-time resident of Corrigan where she married the one true love of her life Harold Hoffman. She met her love while working at the picture show in Corrigan, TX. They were married on July 11,1953 and spent 47 wonderful years together. They raised 4 children and saw a household full of grandkids and great grandbabies. Dorothy attended Corrigan School District where she graduated from, while in school she was a Majorette and was also a part of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She worked at the local bank, as head teller for 35 years and took great pride in her job. Dorothy or as everyone called her “Mammo”, loved to be outdoors, be it deer hunting, camping or even attending a softball tournament where you could hear her cheering the loudest for her team! Her favorite place to be, was surrounded by her many grandchildren and all the family members. A household full of family was where she was happiest.

Dorothy is survived by Brother; Billy and wife Frankie Safford, Sister-in-law; Mary (Thompson) Whitmire, Daughters; Teresa (Harvey) Terry, Donna and husband Craig “Jug” Wright, Son; Gary Hoffman and “son by love” Lane Byrd, Grandchildren; Christy Cook, Jennifer Knobel, Michael Scoggin, Damon Scoggin, Craig “Booger” Wright II, Justin Wright, Louis Watson, Elizabeth Mitchell, Brianna Hoffman, McKayla Hoffman and Gracieanna Hoffman, Great grandchildren; she had 20 in total, “one in which was very special to her and shared a tremendous bond Dakota Sanfford”, she also had 9 great- great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by Husband Harold Hoffman, daughter Debra Beatie, Father Glenn “Hap” Safford, Mother and stepfather Ethel and Luther Herring, mother-in-law and father-in-law Rayma and Chester Thompson, Brothers and sisters-in-law; Marvin and Wilma Wagnone, Bob and Goldie Anderson, Brother-in-law Robert “Bobby” Thompson, and Daughter-in-law Tonya Hoffman.

Pallbearers will be Michael Scoggin, Damon Scoggin, Craig “Booger” Wright II, Justin Wright, Greg Thompson, Weston Wright. Honorary Pallbearers will be Craig “Jug” Wright, Harvey Terry, Lane Byrd, Mark Safford, Steve Safford, Anthony Page, Linda Lyons, and Kevin Riley.
